The poor child couldnt see and needed the comfort and support of a mom, but she does the opposite and betrays him completely by ignoring & starving him.   10. ​​ @kalechristianson5207 the age that most young people join the military is the age when some SMIs start to manifest symptoms, which makes it more difficult to diagnose bc we don't know if it is trauma from what they've witnessed, SMI, or a combination of both or something else entirely eg substances.

  12. I did my psych rotation at a VA hospital and everyone I met were great people. One of the Vietnam stories I can never unhear. But the staff were kind and truly tried to help. I ended up doing a music therapy project w tons of funk and old school stuff like Car Wash Musical soundtrack songs which got them up and dancing. I ended the hour with songs from Pure Moods which had some of them falling asleep. I hope they enjoyed my company, bc I enjoyed theirs .😢

  13. She said she didn't steal anything to distract and try to act like she had no idea what they wanted. She repeatedly said she wanted to talk to her friend so she could fill him in on the story she cooked up about a guy who came up to the car to rob them. Does she not know that the store, esp electronics, is covered in cams that can have the footage cued up immediately. That is why she got charged for the initial complaint.

  17.  @Yes-iu3kr  specifically the chewing gum and not being aware that any phones w a signal can call 911, regardless of having service or a phone number attached, made me think he was new. My local police dept asked for old phones to be donated for DV victims so that they can dial 911 if there is no access to another phone or for victims to hide for emergencies if the partner had taken/broken their phone. Most police also know that the phones have special shortcuts to dial 911 eg tapping the power button a certain number of times which also let's the operator know it might be a situation where the person can't talk but is in need of help.

Im not Christian/Catholic, and was raised w zero following of any religion, but ive read memoirs of people who were raised in these types of environments, and some of it is horrifying.

It was so difficult to witness it, that I've actually hidden money to ensure that if I have a similar diagnosis, I will immediately go to Dignitas in Switzerland. End stage was very unfair and unacceptable for such a sweet person like my patient . She was not in hospice until 48 hours prior to the end. The aides that were hired were uneducated and unfamiliar, exacerbating an already awful situation. I think everyone needs to take steps in deciding their care long before it is ever necessary and before it is too late. Nobody plans or hopes to go into a nursing home, yet that is where many end up

  24.  @ScarletMarie0007  I have never considered the weird chemical smell from ketoacidosis, to smell like that of alcohol. There is an unusual medical condition where a person's own gut will ferment certain juices or foods, and they become intoxicated and smell of alcohol bc the auto brewery syndrome creates the ETOH and smell.

Does nobody realize that there are great sm influences like EWU, Mr Ballen, That Chapter, self help guides, life hacks, tutorials etcetera. Social media is a double edged sword, but it definitely has brought the world closer.

  31. I agree but there are some PDs w a history of corruption and cover-ups w their own dept investigating v serious complaints against officers. I think older departments eg DC to Boston think nothing will change bc it rarely does. There are quite a few "elite" officers from my city, who are serving federal time for extortion, kidnapping, stalking, running a brothel w party favors from the evidence licker, working w the largest kingpins... A few shows have been made about it but they only mentioned charges that were convicted, not thrown out w plea deals or witness intimidation.

Many people don't realize that if the body can't filter toxins, the person will become less lucid, as the brain fog builds from the blood not being cleaned. Some drugs like Lactulose can help w eliminating toxins like ammonia. Sometimes mechanical filtration is needed eg kidney dialysis for renal disease. It's not your fault if you didn't realize what was occurring.

  34.  @jacobott3382  Jacob you can sometines smell a similar odor from people on keto diets, due to them being in ketosis. If they reach ketoacidosis, it is v noticeable and dangerous. Maybe your mother controls her BG better than most, and it smells different for different people. You should look into the symptoms in case your mother experiences it while you are w her, so that you can help instead of being blind to it.

  50.  @clurtzy  or if (as awful as it sounds) it went deep. Many times a tiny needle will allow a puncture to seal without a drop of blood. A nurse would know that unless they're really bad at giving IVs or shots. Many people who have had shots, could also attest to little or no mark afterward.
