My dog was sick and I had to lift him on and off the bed and carry him. I left the bedroom to get a drink and walked back in as he was jumping up on the bed, before he realized I was there. He didn't even try to ask for more "upsies" once I gasped and he knew he had been seen. He really is sick now, and my anticipatory grief makes me think that I may die w him.
