But doesn't the defense have the right to waive their speedy trial, so that they wouldn't have to delay? Is there a reason why they wouldn't just waive that right?

@MrRmeadows that makes sense, but the prosecution handed over terabytes worth of discovery and thousands of pages of evidence, so it seems like they're probably handing over more than the defense can examine. Which makes me think that extra time would benefit the defense more than the prosecution. It was already looking bad for BK, but the alibi is definitely not helping him. Ty.
