He and all the men in his family are raised to think that women are property and are to be punished if they are thought to be causing any disrespect or dishonor to the family. He already made it clear when he said that physically reprimanded his wife, mother, sister , and any female that he is in charge of. Did you listen to his testimony‽‽

@Missstrish the neighbors across the hall were interviewed by police and it is available on a couple of sites, I think one is called alieta law. From the second that Ali moved in, he asked the couple to spy on Ana, Ana had to run to their apartment naked to ask for a phone, the yelling was almost daily and usually only Ali's voice could be heard etc. Him denying access to clothes and a phone were his primary methods to control her, so foul language wasn't his worst attribute.

There are a few deep dives on this case, she had no intention of putting Amira in foster care. She never left Amira w him bc he was too dangerous and she planned on full custody w only visitation for him. His whole family has significant issues w blow, bullets, and prison. Look up Sammy Nasser Abulaban, his brother imprisoned in VA.

He was raised to believe that he owned the women in his life and they are second class citizens. He made Ana live w his mother in VA the month prior so she could learn how to behave. Ana realized that she was being gaslighted and isolated. She moved back and asked for a divorce. Ali's bro was in prison for similar crimes against random people

She was sent to live w is mom in VA for a month prior to this. She had Amira w her at all times and always kept Amira. She planned on getting full custody w visitation based on his mental health disability. She probably said it to test him, but her actions proved that she was the primary caretaker and never left her daughter w him for safety reasons.

@Ariesstar29 there's a reason that the courts contested his family getting custody of Amira. Ana had Amira w her at all times and never felt safe leaving her w Ali. Given that she had just had Amira for the past 6 weeks solid w no break at all, I'm guessing she was frustrated or was saying it bc he refused to take care of Amira and she was trying to see if he would help for even a few minutes. She was going for full custody w only visitation for him and supervised visitation at that, due to his violence toward his wife, mother, sister and any women who upset him

@VonDutchNL his family comes from a culture of honor killings a d he had already made her go live in VA w his mom to learn how to be submissive and stay home w her child. She never left her child w him so he tried to flip it and say thay she was unsafe for taking her to a birthday party. He was doing doing far worst things in front of hid daughter and making Ana be part of his scripts pretending he was perfect. His own cousin and her friend gave interviews saying he was dangerous and didn't care who he hurt.

@Kaykayu98 im not making excuses at all, his brother was arrested 6 months earlier for something almost as bad directed at random drivers on the freeway. The family was under a father and belief system that women are chattel, physical reprimands against women are acceptable and offing them is fine if they have caused disrespect. They're all despicable bc of their attitudes and beliefs about women.
