My sister was given a dog by a little boy who said his mother was making him take it to the SPCA 2 blocks away, but he hoped that my sister would keep it. She kept it and quickly realized that the dog wanted to run wild all the time. He had so many sets of stitches the first year, bc he'd shred himself getting out of fences to run free in a busy section of the city. She started taking him to a tiny park across the street at 3am and let him off his leash where he would run around w the area foxes for almost an hour. Sometimes he wasn't willing to come back when she whistled, but most of the time he did. It made him v happy and he didn't try to escape as much when he knew he likely had a play date w foxes scheduled.
