  2.  @old_grey_cat  The letter 'H' is a Consonant and, with only few exceptions, if beginning a noun or adjective, is preceded with A. The only times An are used ahead of a word beginning with 'H' is in the following: Hour(hourly); Honour(honoured, honouring, honourable); Heir, Heirloom. These are *THE ONLY TIMES when a word beginning in 'H' is preceded by An. And the word "Herb", "Herbal" also are preceded by A, not An as the 'H' is ASPIRATED! It is NOT SILENT! I wish you Americans would FINALLY get that through your thick, arrogant-but-ignorant SKULLS!
