  1. At least Nissan had the good sense to go with the German-made Blaupunkt(English translation: Blue Point) radio/cassettestereo instead of crappy Philips stuff.

  2.  @markpenrice6253  My 2003 Ford BA Falcon Futura station wagon, the stereo "carked" it late last year and the auto electricians I go to managed to get replacements(had to be the same type of unit for the same BA model as the stereo formed part of an overall dashboard unit, the LCD display showed not only radio and CD status but air-con, demister and other device settings as well). First replacement "hiccupped" on playing CDs(sticks at a point in the song: "dududududududu......" then might jump forward or back)..... second replacement did exactly the same..... so I gave up on the idea(for now) of getting the stereo "sorted". It wasn't the auto electricians' fault, it was the company supplying the product that didn't bother to test the players before dispatch. But I strongly suspect the stereo radio/CD unit to be Philips-built. I've NEVER trusted Philips after the TV set my parents bought in 1963, a Philips, was FOREVER playing up. I've grown to HATE the Philips brand and avoid like the plague anything that carries the brand(except for records, LPs, CDs and 45rpm singles, because Philips didn't make those).
