  1. Being fully manual(no auto-return mechanism) is a PLUS, not a minus. If you're using a turntable to record your favourite songs to storage media(converting to MP3, for instance), then you DON'T want the sound of the mechanism triggering, just as the last few seconds of the inner-most(last song) song or instrumental track is playing. I had a turntable that did that very thing and it was annoying as all hell.
