  1. For "Direct Democracy" to work PROPERLY, first you need COMPULSORY VOTING. Second, you need a STANDARDISED VOTING SYSTEM, right across the country, instead of the hotch-potch of differing systems you now have. Third, you MUST strip the right of citizenship AWAY from corporations. Only individual people can be citizens of any state or nation. Forth, political parties have rigged elections through voter purges and other voter suppression tactics probably since the very first elections(wouldn't surprise me if that were true). That, in itself is HIGH TREASON and any party guilty of this should suffer immediate ABOLISHION with NO right of appeal. NO citizen, over the age of 18 years should EVER have his/her voting right suppressed or cancelled for ANY reason except for being convicted of a crime requiring a sentence of life imprisonment. If the sentence calls for a for a given number of years with a parole period thereafter, when the parole period has elapsed, full voting rights are reinstated. And fifth, but MOST IMPORTANTLY. The President should, nay MUST, be a NEUTRAL, NON-PARTISAN FIGUREHEAD with LIMITED constitutional powers and ABSOLUTELY NO POWER to sack a government. Executive governmental power must be vested in a Prime Minister, to be enacted ONLY after consultation with cabinet.... NEVER EVER UNILATERALLY!
