  1. America has only itself to blame for the rise of Trump. America's republic is a flawed, defective concept, right from the start and the BIGGEST MISTAKE was an "executive resident"! The second massive MISTAKE is the long and convoluted election process! America could be a true democracy if it modelled itself on AUSTRALIA! We don't have a President but our Governor-General is, for all intents and purposes NEUTRAL AND CEREMONIAL with very few if any political powers. REAL EXECUTIVE POWER in Australia is vested in a PRIME MINISTER but not solely with the PM, a Cabinet of Ministers with various portfolios(Trade, Education, Health, Foreign Affairs etc.) also has an important role in the governance of our country. And sitting above the House of Representatives(we don't use pretentious terms like "congress" here) is the Senate which acts as a check on the powers of the House of Reps. Our system is supposedly called the Westminster system, but that, in itself is an insult to our system as we DO NOT HAVE A USELESS UNELECTED PACK OF ARISTOCRATIC TWATS sitting in our upper house. Our Senate is elected by POPULAR VOTE but with a different method to electing the members of our House of Representatives. In a nutshell, All we need to do to become a Republic, is to have our Governor-General answer to us, the Australian Citizens instead of the head of a "past its use-by date anachronistic, doddering monarchy.
