  1. Australia's power plug standard is far superior to America's standard. Our plugs and sockets have the Active and Neutral pins and the slots to receive them like this: / \ with the vertical earth pin below, but years ago they were turned 180 degrees so the earth pin was at the top, but the wiring remained the same.
