  1. Plenty of intelligent people knew enough economics to see a Nazi economy would crash long before 1000 years. Encouraging ridiculous projects was not only very profitable to some but they knew would suck the hell out of the Nazi economy to make it crash sooner. Assassinations had failed but the complicit grooming of the dictator's ego by designers would work as a growing opinion in Germany during WW2 was that Hitler would eventually just go too far and thus get rid of himself. Which is what happened.
