  1. China chooses to forget that NATO is a purely defensive organisation, and does not interfere with the politics of its members. Framing sovereign nations choosing to join it, as "expansion", is in itself a "cold-war mentality". NATO is not an empire. It has NEVER fought a war of aggression, and never will. Interventions against rogue states has always been approved and coordinated under the UN flag. E.g. the Kosovo intervention was under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244. Obviously, China still thinks as it used to during the cold war, seeing NATO as an enemy. NATO is only an enemy as long as China wants to threaten other nations militarily.
