  1. Encasing a hobby rocket engine with a metal case is NOT the safest thing to do. Shrapnel travels a long distance at lethal speeds. Try cardboard cylinders, it is what my chemistry teacher who was also into rocket engines recommended (in 1984), and also what is used in fireworks. I am sure they have a good reason for that.
