  1. I keep forgetting that these ships were designed as move and counter-move on what the other navies in the world were doing. That is very different from modern ships, which are designed mainly as platforms to house as many as budget allows of the latest & greatest weapon and sensor systems. Very interesting to hear the various design goals for these ships "built as response to the xxx class in the yyy navy".
