This is a timely warning to current leaders. The way the USA is acting now, is the same as they did in 1929. Unemployment is out of control, but there is far too little support. The cost of support and benefits will be much less than the cost of wages not earned and not fed back into the economy. Trump is playing politics with forces that may well end in war if not handled properly.

@Ant_Man211 What makes you think I blindly vote for a specific party? I vote for the party who's plans agree with what I think is best for the nation. That usually is for a party that is slightly left of center with regards to the economy, and slightly right of center with regards to norms and values. In your nation, the Republicans are so extremely to the right they start to look like fascists. The Democrats are more in the center, but still to the right of center, so I would definitely vote Democrat. However, it seems both parties have some corruption (reps much more then dems), so I would also get involved in something like #represent.us.

@stephensedlon8414 You might want to edit your remark a bit, the second sentence makes no sense. But aside from that, I fully agree with what you are saying. That is why I urge any american to get involved with the #represent.us movement, which is rooting out corruption from the US political system. Still, what Dump is doing is extremely dangerous. He, and the republican-led senate, are blocking aid plans from helping the people bearing the brunt of the current epidemic, for political purposes! All those people being laid off, being evicted from their homes, and not having money to care for their sick, are first going to destroy your economy, and will then cause a world-wide recession. Just as in 2008, it is republican laissez faire that will greatly exacerbate this crisis.

@Ant_Man211 At least democrats have not tried to turn the nation into a dictatorship. You are just willfully ignorant period. You don't even know how to spell that phrase. Racism in your country is in many, many things. Like the likelihood of being jailed for possession of drugs. White people possess drugs more often yet are jailed much less. Or the likelihood of being killed by the police: that is 3 times as high for african americans as for whites. So you'd think USA cops are more often in danger from black people. However, cops are almost 50% more likely to be killed by a white perp than by a black one. So the aggression of cops towards blacks is not justified by facts. This is what the BLM protests are about. But the biggest problem in my mind is the difference in education available to colored and whites. Because schools are locally funded, people in 'bad' neighborhoods get worse education than people in 'good' neighborhoods. That is the main cause of the unequal opportunities both groups have. Therefore, I agree BLM is focused too much on race, and too little on the growing divide between rich and poor.

@Ant_Man211 I pity you. Completely brainwashed by Faux news. Sad. If people called Dump a xenophobe for closing the nation (I didn't) that was changed real fast when the danger of covid became clear. It was a good move and widely emulated. But it was his last good move regarding Covid until his recent change of heart. Valuing economy over lives was a very bad move, that he has come to regret. The recovery of jobs was encouraging, before covid went viral again -- as expected by the experts. I wish you all well, but I hope you learn to listen to experts instead of the bumbling fool that squats in the WH. I hope he gets some money to the millions in your country who desperately need it.

The reason I pick on Dump is because he is part of a world-wide trend of populism, which I find extremely worrying. I define populism as politicians that promise easy solutions to complex problems, draw voters by making groups ("others") out to be enemies, ignore or even ridicule scientists, fight the free press (and any voice that dares to question their false promises), and blame the "others" when things go to pot. Currently, Russia, the UK, Poland, Hungary, Turkey and the USA have fallen for populist leaders. All these countries are suffering as a result, some more than others, and I do not want it to spread. Dump has demonstrated all the things I listed when handling Covid.

Elpinstone suffered from many of the things that modern British leaders suffer from. The way they are bred and taught seems to give them a false sense of entitlement, that they can't imagine ever being wrong or in danger of making mistakes. And are completely blind to the consequences of any mistakes they make. Elphinstone got what he deserved. But it is infinitely sad so many suffered as a result of his incompetence...

What a start. "The samurai sword is beyond compare". What nonsense. European weapons of the era were superior in many aspects, or at least as good. The only reason that we have so much regard for the Japanese weapons is that they were still being made and used long after Europe had moved to more modern weapons and tactics, and most European martial arts had been lost and forgotten. In most eras, samurai would have been helpless against their European peers. Better steel, better designs, better training, better techniques and better tactics. For example, lets put a 10th century Viking with an Ulfbert sword against a samurai of the period.... No contest.
