The demise of Putin will do a lot to repair this situation, as he has been the driving force behind MAGA. But I do hope the USA will learn and repair a few things to strengthen the Rule of Law.

  5. Interesting theory. It explains why the rocket resumed a straight course after its U-turn. However, another explanation might be that for some reason (Bug?) the missile suddenly started tracking the biggest radiation source in the area, which was its control van, or mis-interpreted its actuation commands. Or perhaps there was a singularity in its internal navigation software that got triggered, which made the thing believe it was flying in the opposite direction from where it should go. While normally they wouldn't make large corrections, a bug may well cause them to behave differently. My theory is that we have seen a software bug in action, and an illustration to why military & aviation software is so much more expensive to develop than administrative software.

  11. I have banned the use of TikTok in my home about 3 years ago. Mostly because of privacy concerns, but you are very right about the radicalization concerns. There is a reason why in Europe, there are laws against hate speech. Those laws need to be brought to bear on all social media.
