  1. Not so much "judicial" reform. The laws are fine, mostly. But there is a LOT of corruption in the USA, and a LOT of discrimination. In my country, if there is even a hint of the court treating a defendant differently from any other (e.g. is partial to the defendant or has already made up its mind before hearing the facts), that court is taken off the case and replaced within hours. That can be triggered by either the prosecution or the defense, depending on whether the court is extra lenient or extra harsh. A panel of senior judges decides whether the court does seem to be partial or not.

  2. Also, he should have gotten the MAXIMUM sentences sequentially, not in parallel. I dare the courts to find a worse example of a subpoena-ignorer, so he definitely deserves maximum sentences.

  3. ​ @joecopas6218  There is no way Rittenhouse would have been out in an armed mob in my country. Such a mob would have been neutralized by our marines, most likely. Nor would those riots have taken place. There would have been a curfew that would have been enforced by riot police. But before that, we would have prevented those protests from escalating in the first place. Our police knows how de-escalate situations, and how to keep protesters & counter-protesters separated. We also have non-lethal means of dispersing crowds.

  4. Committing a crime as a result of following advice from council is a good reason to fire your councilor, but no excuse for committing a crime.
