  1. They should know by now that the man is his own worst enemy and will try to make his lawyers destroy their careers for him. But I am pretty sure some really good lawyers did apply for the position, but were rejected by Trump because they either wanted to be paid in advance, or wouldn't kowtow to him. Like address him as "president", or humor his suggestions. A good lawyer would put Trump on notice that he must do as the lawyer says, and that is something Trump is too proud for. "Pride comes before a fall"

  2. Asking a judge a-priori if certain communications are permissible is asking a judge to break the 1st amendment. Good thing he didn't play along.
