  3. Donald Trump is such a fool. I doubt the DOJ would have changed their opinion if Trump had simply kept his mouth shut, as a government should not contradict itself. HOWEVER, with the new defamations by Trump, which were clearly made while he was no longer in the employ of the Government, things have certainly changed. As Trump has demonstrated that his behaviour towards Mrs Carroll was clearly unrelated to his Presidential duties, those duties having terminated in Jan 2021, the DOJ will now most likely change its opinion on the matter.
