  1. I used to think it was a cop-out to say "I can't comment on an ongoing case". However, I now know that for Garland to make any statement concerning the case, that would constitute Obstruction of Justice, which is a crime. Political appointees are to keep themselves separate from specific cases, in a country where there is the Rule of Law. Prosecutors must be unobstructed in the pursuit of Justice, the Judge and Jury must remain free from outside influence and witnesses must be free from intimidation. That Republican politicians continuously violate this principle reflects their opinion of the Rule of Law. Very, very, very disturbing.
