The Democrats could have voted to keep the Speaker -- IF he had not done everything he could do to hurt the democrats, like appoint the worst of MAGA crazies to positions of responsibility, display p0rn to try and shame Biden's son, and a bogus "impeachment" hearing where the witnesses could not name a single "high crime or misdemeanor" that the President had committed. McCarthy was a very bad speaker, and the Democrats were glad to be rid of him.
