  1. I am greatly puzzled why there is even a discussion whether self-pardons would be Constitutional. Letting a person, any person, self-pardon will place that person above the law. That would place the President above the Constitution itself, and goes against all legal principles established since the enlightenment. It would make the President an absolute ruler. US Democracy would end the moment a presidential self-pardon would be allowed to stand.
