  1. That depends on which people are affected, not on the rights themselves. "Rights for Me, Not for You". Which is just a form of lawlessness and corruption. Someone should school them on why Lady Justice wears a blindfold.

  2. I am not certain about that. Anyone is free to request something from the DA. And anyone is free to have their ears washed about whether or not the DA should accommodate that request. However, if these congressmen were to actually order Bragg to comply, or impose any consequences on the DA's refusal to accommodate them, that would most certainly be obstruction of justice. And I would imagine that their comments on the case ("witch hunt" etc) would also constitute obstruction of justice, but that is another matter. Politicians must be very careful not to comment on ongoing cases to prevent e.g. witness intimidation or prejudicing a potential jury.
