@sheireland3737 first of all, Zelensky knows that Putin will not accept any peace deal where Ukraine doesn't fully surrender. It is literal madness to try and repeat the Minsk agreements. Putin already broke 400 different agreements since 2014. Only a fool would trust a deal where there are no hard guarantees for Ukraine's security, and Zelensky is no fool. Second, Vance broke every diplomatic protocol by repeating Russian lies in Zelensky's face. It was clear that Trump never had the intention to give Ukraine what it needs, because Trump is on Russia's side. Nothing Zelensky could have done would have changed the outcome of Friday's meeting. He got stabbed in the back by Trump and Vance. All the world saw it, and will respond appropriately. The time of licking Trump's boots is over. He has declared himself the enemy of democracy and freedom.

Zelensky had the DUTY to defend himself against the egregious lies Vance spout forth. He fights those exact same lies for 3 years now. Shame on the USA for insulting Zelensky in this way.
