  1. These Crimea raids show that Ukraine is checking how easy it would be to invade Crimea by sea. Like the Dieppe raid was a preparation for the Normandy invasion. It is time for Russia to station more troops by the coast, because these raids will become more and more significant, doing more and more damage, and causing more and more chaos behind Russian lines. They prove it would be possible for Ukraine to liberate Crimea by sea. But I don't think Russians have the manpower to do it. It would mean sacrificing other parts of the front line. Too bad for them. Death is coming for all Russians on Ukrainian soil.

  3. The great advantage of modern air-defense systems like S-400 is that they are mobile, making them harder to wipe out. Perhaps someone should tell the Russians?

  7. The West will not pressure Zelensky to make concessions. We already did that once, in 2014 with the Minsk 2 accord. It did not bring peace. Putin in fact wiped his bottom with that piece of paper. And now, no western leader will sign another treaty with Putin, ever again. Just like 1938 was the last opportunity for Hitler to live in peace, and he squandered it, so 2014 was Putin's last chance. Putin thought 2014 was a sign of western weakness. He thought wrongly.

  9. I can imagine some Ukrainians want peace. However, they should realize that several peace deals have been made with Russia before, most importantly the Minsk1 and Minsk2 deals. These did not result in a lasting peace, and showed Putin to be deeply unreliable. Ukraine will never be free until it has fought every last Moskovian out of its lands, and obtained permission to retaliate for any and every attack across the border.

  12. "Every war ends with peace" Not so, Shoigu. There is no peace between China-sustained North Korea and South Korea. Nor is there peace between Taiwan and China. From those two examples you can learn one thing: it is better to not be dependent on China.
