  1. True. And NATO will take the withdrawal of Russian troops to (more or less) the 1991 borders as the end of the conflict. Russia will not be allowed to keep Ukraine out of NATO by occasionally lobbing rockets across the border. Re: 1991 borders: Any other border would be acceptable as well, as long as Ukraine is happy with it.

  2. The West will not pressure Zelensky to make concessions. We already did that once, in 2014 with the Minsk 2 accord. It did not bring peace. Putin in fact wiped his bottom with that piece of paper. And now, no western leader will sign another treaty with Putin, ever again. Just like 1938 was the last opportunity for Hitler to live in peace, and he squandered it, so 2014 was Putin's last chance. Putin thought 2014 was a sign of western weakness. He thought wrongly.
