Democracy more-or-less worked in the UK, though its government has for long followed policies that are not supported by the majority of voters, but the Johnson regime has unveiled just how vulnerable UK democracy is. You absolutely NEED: * PR, severing the hard link between MP's and a group of voters (which makes them subject to blackmail). * A written constitution affirming the sovereignty of Parliament, formally separating it from the government and subjecting the government firmly to the Rule of Law. MP's should not be part of the government. * Outlawing any form of persuasion on MP's (whips).
