The comparison with the Afghanistan invasion is fair enough, except that the Ukraine invasion is about 20 TIMES as costly -- and counting. Russia is right now losing in a month what they lost over 10 years in Afghanistan. The coming collapse of the Russian Federation is going to be much more catastrophic than the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The Tsar was probably the reason that tribe decided to withdraw itself.

@DrDemented9885 It took between 6 and 12 weeks to cross the ocean, so 3 months is the extreme. Most crossings were significantly faster.

During which the Rebels had help from France, the Dutch and other nations and groups. (the Dutch were officially neutral in the conflict, but many rich Dutchmen sent aid to the Rebels)

Excellent documentary! The world needs to understand what and who Russia is, so we can better understand how to combat it. Interestingly, without Siberian oil and gas, Russia would be powerless. No-one fears the collapse of the Russian Federation more than Putin.

"Russia is either desperate, lying or both" Russia is always lying anyway, so again I think it is both.

Ukraine has achieved many strategic goals in 2023. Most importantly, they managed to re-open the Odessa harbour and are exporting through it. Also, they have forced the Ruzzian fleet to withdraw to Novorusisk. Thirdly, they have opened a beach head on the east side of the Dnipro in Kherson oblast. Each of these is a major strategic victory. Ruzzia, on its end, has achieved not a single strategic victory. Their only tactical victory was managing to destroy the provincial town of Bakhmut (2022 pop: 70,000). Wow...

"If the foundations aren't shored up really, really soon" No, it is too late to fix these problems. Russian economy is going to crash. The Russian companies are insolvent, its banks are insolvent, the government has run out of money, and the companies are totally dependent on military funding. Even if peace were to break out right now, and all sanctions lifted, they would still collapse hard. Its major export markets before the war: energy to the EU, and weapons to anyone looking for cheap arms, are almost completely gone for ever.

@SuperMrBentley Of course it can. And it will, in about half a year's time, when Putin goes to meet Khadaffi and other figures scramble to gain power -- including regional leaders. Better buy a good supply of pop-corn.
