  1. Open Source is far more secure than Closed Source. For one, because this is Open Source, we all know about it, and we can all learn from exactly what happened. A company would just issue a fix and keep tabs on what happened and how it happened. You can be certain that after this, Makefiles and other parts of the build system will get the same scrutiny as source code.
