  1. It is high time that the states are taken out of the presidential elections. The president is a purely Federal office, completely unrelated to the states. Let THE PEOPLE vote for the president directly, let voting stations be federally organised but staffed by a volunteer body under review by all relevant parties, and that is that. All these states currently do is to muddy the waters. All this nonsense about a few tens of thousands voters in swing states deciding an election will be over. EVERY vote will count in exactly the same way. As it should.
