  4. ​ Miguel Melchior  Stupid drivel needs to be challenged. There are far too many people living in make-believe worlds that still vote and ruin things for everybody. And journalists need to step up and take their work seriously. For too many it is just a paycheck, or even worse a platform for self-aggrandisement. Look at Trump, Look at Johnson. Both would be nowhere if journalists were competent and honest. But now they are doing their utmost to take their nations back into the dark ages, and journalists are standing by and applauding.

  6. I think the way the export of oil and gas by Russia has been handled shows true genius. The cap on insured value of oil and gas transports has prevented a collapse of the world-wide economy, yet prevents Russia from profiting (profiteering) from it. Because the price cap is almost the price of production and transport. We have demonstrated that in the end, the Customer is King. Not the one who sells the assets.

  7. When you think you can unilaterally change legal agreements and hurt French fishermen, you are in for a big surprise. If England thinks it can carve out a dis-proportionately large part of French territorial waters by having a few tiny islands in them, they need to realise that those islands are not viable without French support.
