Lovely interview. She was a bit shy at first, so I thought she didn't have much to say. Then she got into it, and said some pretty insightful things. Also her response to the audience was so honest and immediate, touched me. Gotta love her.

Trump needs to be sent to jail. He broke the law, he needs to do the time.

Republicans introduced cancel culture into politics.

This was overdue. It is completely unacceptable that a tyrant would put the governor under pressure to fake the election result. He needs to be put in jail for this.

@Hopalongtom "she eventually died" That is absolutely irrelevant to whether McDonalds was at fault or not.

4:40 This hack is completely false. The impeachment trial is absolutely necessary to saveguard the future of US democracy. This will give many more kids to opportunity to go to school ten years from now!

Seeing this turd deflate is one of the best things I have seen these past 5 years. Right up there with the Moskva on fire and that Russian missile boat being hit by its own missile.

Not in this item she wasn't. The ones who were made fun of, were the jury members deciding that travesty. There is a reason we keep toddlers away from cups of coffee or tea. That woman should have been reprimanded for not following basic precautions. Not have the court rule in her favor.

@richardvinsen2385 I don't know what documentary you are referring to, but what you say is absolute nonsense. As the melting point of styrofoam is 464F (240C) and it remains structurally sound up to 100C, it is impossible that it melted. Sure, hot drinks can scald you. Terribly. That is why you need to behave responsibly with them in hand. Not crush the cup, which is what I suspect that poor woman did.
1
@alexsm3882 That cup didn't melt. Styrofoam melts only above 464F. However, it was weaker than she expected, and she crushed the cup by accident. If boiling water could melt styrofoam, we would have dozens of videos of it on YT. I have found an example of someone deforming styrofoam cups, but they needed a pressure cooker (250F / 120C) for long periods to achieve that. I actually found a video of someone boiling water in a styrofoam cup over a charcoal fire, for crying out loud.

@alexsm3882 BTW, this whole nonsense is exactly why you can't leave Justice in the hands of a jury. I am sure that woman and her legal team played on the emotions of the jury, but you can't judge right or wrong based on emotion. Hard facts and cold logic, as well as a thorough understanding of the Law are what you need.

@singletona082 What annoys me is the stupidity of some people. You say the coffee was in the 150-160F range as if that should shock people? It shocks me because that is extremely cold for coffee. Fresh brewed coffee should be in the 170-200F range. If have never had a styrofoam cup "melt" though I drink tea in them, which is usually poured in the cup at 200-210F. No guys, what happened to the poor lady was terrible, especially considering the way health-care is organised in the USA, but she had no business accusing McDonalds of wrong doing.

@alexsm3882 The severity of scalding from a hot drink depends a lot on how you react. You should get the cloth off your skin as quick as possible, and cool with cold water as soon as possible. Scalding is very dangerous, as also shown by the amount of toddlers that are seriously and permanently injured or even die from it. So everyone handling hot drinks should do so responsibly. If the McDonalds staff served the drink in an over-full, damaged or badly closed cup, she certainly has standing.
1
@alexsm3882 That is good information, and makes sense. McDonalds probably re-heated the coffee to make people believe it was fresher than it actually was, which is dastardly. It also makes sense for McDonalds to serve coffee at a lower temperature as many patrons are in a situation where they can't really help themselves when it does spill. Also, the seating arrangement in a car makes it more likely for a large body area to be scalded, making spills more dangerous. In normal seating, you spill coffee over your leg instead of your abdomen. However, the real issue here is the state of health care in the USA. It is absurd that she wasn't covered by insurance as she would have been in ALL other developed nations.

@singletona082 Thank you for elevating this fact-based discussion to a mud slinging match.

@Hopalongtom Boy, parents loose their children because of accidents with hot coffee or tea. We nearly had such an accident because my wife was yapping away with a friend and did not pay attention to what my toddler son was doing. Luckily, I spotted it in time to move there and prevent an accident... Hot drinks scald people, adults need to take responsibility for that fact. But sometimes it just happens in spite of our best care. The thing that has me stoked about this case is that the woman was not covered by insurance for her medical costs. That is not normal for a developed nation.

@singletona082 You act like you need talking down to, boy. OK, that was not very nice of me, sorry. But my previous comment to you was very serious. I responded to you with a fact-based discussion, but then you reacted with insults. You should learn some civility.

If you want to increase testosterone levels, start accepting the physical effects of testosterone, like male pattern baldness and body hair. When I walk into a gym and see all these baby-faced boys with their oiled bodies, I quickly walk out again. It is quite simple. Sir Sean Connery: Real Man, even though he wore a hair piece. Leonardo di Caprio: boy with an attitude.

As vile as the GOP has become, the real culprit behind this all is Fox News. They should be held accountable for the result of their propaganda. Can't they shut down media that so blatantly supports a terrorist organisation?
