Re: closing off the Baltic sea for Russian shipping: that would be an official Act of War, would declare open hot war, between NATO and Russia. Even during the cold war, that never happened. At this time, that is obviously a step too far for NATO.

About the relation Putin - Trump: I think Trump is starting to realize that he doesn't need Putin anymore. He is now in charge, permanently, and Putin will need to submit to him. I don't think Putin is able to do that.
