  1. Not all Europeans start the war at September 1939. France and the Low Countries start the war at 10 May 1940, the start of Fall Gelb, the invasion of western Europe. And I bet that Russia and other former Soviet Union states start it at 22 June 1941, the start of Operation Barbarossa.
