  1. Malcom X, yes. MLK: NO. Socialism is an economic system, and quite separate from the human rights movement. Human Rights are mainly an ethical issue, recognizing that all people are created equal and have the same inherent rights & value. And that people deserve e.g. education, health care and justice regardless of their race, religion or personal wealth. As is recognized in most western countries.

  2. ​ @coopergates9680  That is why the USA is going down the drain, because it has moved away from the social measures that made it a great country following WW2. People discovered in the second half of the 19th century that capitalism left unchecked will destroy society, creating awful poverty, as highlighted by e.g. Charles Dickens. Then in the 20th century social democracy was invented to combat that. E.g. Roosevelt incoporated some of it in the New Deal. But the US has forgotten all this, starting with Reagan but all the more with Trump. Now it is re-discovering the lessons most countries learned a hundred years ago. A country must take decent care of its poor & less fortunate, and educate all in order to become a great country.

  3. A HUGE problem in the USA is the confusion between Socialism and Social Democracy. Socialism is not viable in western democracies. There are very few real socialist countries, perhaps North Korea and Cuba. There are no main-stream Socialist parties in western countries. For instance, the Democrats in the USA are definitely NOT Socialist. Social Democracy, however, is the dominant political force in the West, and has been since the end of WW2. For instance, the principle of paying taxes is not Socialist. In a socialist society, the state pays the workers, not the other way around. Taxes are part of Social Democracies. But I often hear idiots claim I am a communist for wanting more taxation for the rich, nicely demonstrating the confusion of these people.

  4. Communism was a very dangerous movement that needed to be stopped. It was NOT a movement that liberated people, it literally enslaved them. And it did seek to take over the world.
