  1. "Being oddly specific" I have had some conversations with US people who asked me where I was from, and I answered "Netherlands". Then they asked again. I answered the question by being more specific, but inside of me I rolled my eyes and prepared to explain the most basic topography of the Netherlands, i.e. that there are places outside Amsterdam.

  4. 3:18 That black station wagon with the blue license plate was being a jerk, he could well be fined for what he did. He closed the gap that the ambulance was going for. The blue license plate means he is either a taxi or used for public transport, i.e. a professional driver. He should have known better.

  5. In this discussion, many forget that in the past, every nation on the world used non-metric (banana) units. Then the French invented the Metric system in the 1790ies, and it has since been adopted by all nations except for 3 (Myanmar, Liberia and the USA). That could only have happened because the SI units are undeniably better. Practically EVERY nation in the world voluntarily CHOSE to make the switch from banana units to Metric, most of them 200 years ago. The USA resisting them for so long is proof that its people are backward. Some would say retarded. Heck, I would adopt them if only to escape from that elite group of non-metric nations, putting the USA in the same league as Myanmar and Liberia.

  6.  @Locke99GS  Absolutely agree. Just look at the mess the nation is in! (except for its wealthy 0.1%). Hopefully, after the coming civil war, the current anti-truth & anti-knowledge sentiments in the USA will stop and it can become great again. Adopting Metric, which is such a sensible thing to do, would be one step in the right direction.
