  1. God bless you, Anna! I strongly believe this war will end in a huge victory for democracy and Justice. But we must all do our part in defending democracy. I am happy that the new parliament in my country (nl) has voted to keep strongly supporting Ukraine, in spite of the gains by the lunatic Putin Poodles. This will remain the case.

  2. Zelensky is as great a leader as Winston Churchill. There will be many movies about him. I sometimes wonder what he will be after Ukraine has won this war. He can't be elected again, and he has out-grown a career as politician or as an actor. Perhaps he will find some unique role in rebuilding Ukraine and advocating democracy & freedom world wide. I know he could teach the USA a thing or two about both. But first, there is a war to win. God Bless Ukraine!

  3. "Russia is pathetic" Indeed. Calling turning 1/3 of an apartment into rubble a proper response to the de-militarization of 40+ strategic bomber IS pathetic. As is insinuating that Ukraine called for it. No, the Russians called for everything that is happening to them (and much more) by invading a peaceful neighbour.

  5. The Russians claimed they needed Sevastopol as base for their Black Sea fleet. That is why Obama agreed to the Minsk Accords. So Ukraine has arranged an alternative location for that fleet. The vast space underneath the waves.

  8. While it is absolutely insane that North Korean troops will not try to invade Ukraine, that is not a world war. In a world war, the majority of nations on earth are involved in the fighting, and the fighting occurs on several continents. Three weeks until the US elections. During that time, Putin will try to escalate the conflict, and NATO will try to prevent any new developments. Because Putin believes that any deterioration in the situation in Ukraine will help Trump get elected. But that hope will be in vain. I am pretty certain that after 5 November, the USA will increase its support of Ukraine.

  11. What was destroyed was perhaps worth 7B$, but to Russia they were even more valuable. They don't have the technology to build new strategic bombers. Because Ukraine was the technological heart of the USSR.

  13. There are many things wrong with the Catholic Church. Them having a Pope at all is one of those things. Them exercising temporal & political power is another. Jesus said: "My Kingdom is not of this world. Else, my disciples would have fought.". With that, He instituted the separation of religion and state. He also said, "And do not call anyone on earth ‘father’ (papa / pope), for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." Catholics have in the past murdered many thousands who rejected the authority of the pope and his bishops.

  14. How should we do that? Invade? Indict trump in the ICC? Only the Ukrainians could restore democracy in Ukraine, which they did in 2013-2014. Like many other countries that got rid of their dictator through massive protests. They gave you the example. Get off your couch and do something!

  15. I am pretty sure these NK soldiers are only there to put pressure on the USA election. I fully expect a much stronger reaction after 5 November. I know it sounds crazy, but Trump has poisoned the hearts of some Americans against Ukraine. Once he is defeated, Biden can react much stronger.

  17. God bless you, Anna. I can see your sorrow. Glad Jake could comfort you a little with his clear analysis. I am reminded of what Tolkien said, that we don't get to choose the times in which we live. But we do get to choose what we do with the time that is given us. Ukraine will win this war, and you will get to rebuild again that what was destroyed, and know that you played an important part -- though I am sure it looks small to you.

  18. Even if the USA totally withdraws from NATO, the European states will still be more than strong enough to resist Russia. However, it would result in more Ukrainian casualties as the European states are not (yet) taking the situation seriously enough, that would take some time. But in the long run the main victim of an isolationist USA would be the USA itself. As you say, it was a backwater in the 19th century while being isolationist, and it would revert to that state again in the 21st century if it does withdraw from its alliances. Free trade & commerce made the USA great, and it became the global policeman to protect that free trade & commerce.

  19. Russia seems more interested in attacking Ukrainian cities with S-300 missiles, than using those missiles to defend its air space. But because Russia is so sparsely populated, it will always be easy for Ukrainian secret service agents and for Russian patriots to attack strategic sites. Russia was VERY stupid to launch this invasion! It is being taken apart from the inside. I don't think Putin has much time left.

  20. 10:20 -- I don't know how many people know what an Ukrainian Hetman is, my guess is that most people will think you said "Hit man". Hetman is an old word for a military leader in some Slavic languages.
