  1. The Vuurtoren is my favorite bank note, ever. I was in high school when it came out, and one of my mates brought one into class very soon after its release. We poured over it with magnifying glasses, put it under the microscope even, to study all its features. f250 was a lot of money back then, I am amazed his parents let him take the note to school!

  3.  @pbilk  "they may push to leave the EU" No, not at all. They do not have sufficient power to do that. If he tried, he would be kicked out of office. As in real quick. He needs to form a coalition, and his coalition partners will remove the most extreme bits from his policies. In NL, Parliament rules.

  6. I am often amazed at how clumsy the money is in many countries. For instance, in the UK, the biggest note was £50. That is worth only a tenth of what our biggest note was worth. And in the USA, every note is the same color and size, so you need to be really careful you give the right one. With use, not only was every note a different color, they were different sizes. I was happy to see that the Euro notes have the same features and the same value range.
