  1. For those paying attention, the UK economy started to drop significantly before the rest of the world. That means the drop has a different cause than Covid, or at least there is a significant other factor involved. As you say, cause and effect. If the drop in jan 2020 were cause by Covid, the UK economy must have been prescient, as at that time the world was still operating as if nothing was the matter. China was still denying there was a problem.
