@johnrussell3961 That service economy will very soon take a massive hit due to the EU moving Euro clearing to within its borders. That focus on "service", as the Tories want since Thatcher, will bite the UK very hard in the behind, as a service economy needs international costumers. Otherwise it can not import all those foods and goods that it no longer produces itself. And of course, the biggest internation customer for UK services was the EU. Good luck replacing that loss.

Smaller economy also means less tax income, so a government that either has to cut back or raise taxes, or print more money.

Brexit might have been a success if the Tories had done it in a way to avoid these shocks to the work force and to businesses. Perhaps. But these stupid shocks have made its failure inevitable.
