@Grokku.61 Right wing press, hedge funds, US multinationals, AND AN ELECTORATE THAT BUYS INTO THIS SHITE. Blaming others seems to be the national sport du jour in the UK. Stop that.

The impact will be a drawn-out affair of ever-increasing misery. It will take years for the dust to settle.

No it could not. Bozo has maneuvered himself soundly in a corner that he could not get out of except through a no-deal, by on the one hand committing to the 2019 WA in order to win the GE, and on the other hand promising the ERG to renege on that deal at his earliest convenience. That he showed up at the negotiations in feb 2020 without a proposal was proof positive that he was acting in bad faith. His mission has all along been to crash out of the EU without a deal, and his posturing has only been in the hope the Party would not be blamed. Sane people hope that he now will be disposed by back-benchers who know they will be held to account by their constituents if this goes any further. How likely that is, is anyone's guess.

Blame it on the French, LOL. Though I am appalled at what may happen to the citizens, it may be for the best to let a no-deal run its course. Let time and circumstance teach the lazy, gullible voters to take responsibility and vote for their own well-being. But there is the considerable risk that the Tories will try to aim the coming anger and turmoil to external entities, a war even to keep the UK united. They will say that this war will be of limited scale and duration....

I hope the people will remember who got them in this mess. Mogg has done much more to deserve a sticky end than did the Marquis de Launay... Not that I advocate violence, but if Brexit goes the way I think it will, it will end in bloodshed.

@peterebel7899 Revising history is a hobby of incompetent, populist leaders who want to keep their mindless minions in the dark. Words can not be retracted, only turned into lies. Promises can not be unmade, only broken. Facts matter.

@ADifferentBias The French got it right in 1789, but even then it ended with a populist abusing the turmoil to cause misery all over Europe.
2
Tories should know how that ends. (Thatcher soundly defeating the Argentines in the war they started to re-direct popular unrest due to mismangement). Let's hope and pray the Tories get their comeuppance before they start a war.

@robertmacfarlane2358 Oh, I don't know, perhaps Gibraltar? After they had enough of being hung out to dry and declaring their interest in joining the EU as an independent nation or a part of Spain? Or North Ireland doing the same?

More like the passengers are yelling to the pilot: "Should we brace? How do we brace? Where do we brace?"

@dianamincher6479 The pilot has pinched all the life jackets, so don't bother.

@Ricksdiner It is shocking that you see Brexit in war terms. This is not a war. You want to leave, and no-one is hindering you. The EU is not and has never been your enemy. The EU has always been just, civil and in fact very friendly towards the UK. Your anger towards the EU is only the result of lies. If you disagree, please give me one, just a single one, example where the EU has been unjust to the UK, or has otherwise wronged it.

@Ricksdiner "all about strategic goals and interests" Sorry to burst your bubble, but Brexit is all about tax evasion & self-enrichment by the super-wealthy, and political power-grabbing. Bozo is a populist. He and his allies have directed the anger caused by years of austerity against the EU. They have presented themselves as the sole saviours from the evil EU to garner power. But they forgot to mention that this anger was originally caused by their own austerity measures, not by the EU! That the EU is somehow the cause of the hardship of so many in the UK is a complete fabrication. You, dear heart, have been deceived.

@Ricksdiner "The U.K. needs a deal however sovereignty is paramount to us" That is self-contradictory. One essential aspect of a trade deal is that you give up some of your sovereignty in order to get something else. That is the case with every form of contract, from a marriage to a house sale to a business contract etc. A wise man know what part of his sovereignty to sacrifice. You don't quit your job just because you have to buy petrol to get there. You can try to remain fully sovereign as a man, but you will find you become very lonely and hungry very quickly. As part of the EU you had more power ("sovereignty") than you will have outside of it. In the EU, every member has veto rights on every bit of legislation that is passed. The UK was one of three leading nations in the EU who determined its course. You have lost that. Now you either take or leave what is offered to you by the EU. The UK government has habitually blamed the EU for things they themselves did to cause people pain, and took the credit for every bit the EU did to help the UK citizens. I repeat, you, dear heart, have been deceived.
