The point is, there is no solution for the Dover queues. The UK needs to start using the normal mode of transport for international trade: CONTAINERS. Except for really perishable goods: these go by airplane, also in standard-sized containers. Having that container sit on a lorry with a driver while the necessary checks are performed is absolute madness. It is far too expensive, and you also need additional checks for the lorry and its driver that you won't have for just the container. This is just one of the many things the government should have thought through before leaving, and taken the time to organise regular (daily) trips between e.g. Southampton and Antwerp, or Thamesport and Rotterdam, and advertise them. I guess these do-nothing conservatives have never heard of "To govern is to look ahead". Must be a culture thing. I see there isn't even an English proverb saying it. Well, there is in Dutch ("Regeren is vooruitzien"). Which is probably why our economy is doing so much better than yours.

  3. ​ @Bruce-1956  Also the non-English voters. They should have left the UK by now. And they could have made themselves heard in Westminster. You think e.g. Ukrainian democracy came about by accident? Or Dutch democracy? Or French? Or Belgian? Most nations had to fight for self-rule and democracy. I am afraid the UK voters will soon have to fight for theirs. But lets start with some decent protests. 'Cause if you think this is as bad as it will get, you are mistaken. Things in the UK will get A LOT worse.
