Phil is also leaving a public record of his observations that can be used to reconstruct exactly what happened and when. It will be useful in the post-mortem phase to understand how it could have gone so tits-up. More and more people will find this channel and understand how they have been conned.

Labour is being eclipsed by the LibDems. As they will run in tandem at the next GE, it does not matter much anyway.
3
At some point, they will no longer be able to keep up appearances. Than there will be BIG trouble in the UK, as people realise they have been fooled.

Brexit has been gestating in these sewers for many decades now. They were always ready to blame the EU if the local official farted in the wrong direction. That created the atmosphere of hate that caused the UK to cut off its own hands and feet.
2
What is most shocking is that in the UK, the PM should never have absolute power: Parliament is Sovereign, the PM is its humble servant. But the degradation of democratic standards in the UK is one of the things that enabled Brexit.
2
The Netherlands has many similar problems due to an aging population. Again, which country would you pick to work in?
2
@roywiseman The EU has a long memory and many ways to get even... Biting the hand that feeds you is not a viable long-term strategy.

Brexit is the greatest economic and sociological experiment in history, eclipsing even the forced collectivisation of farms in Soviet Russia that led to the great famines there, and the rise of the NSDAP. It will be studied in economy and sociology classes for centuries to come. Bozo is either a very brave man, or does not know enough to be afraid.
2
@paulsaunders6536 That is not necessarily the case. If the Scots prepare their separation from the UK better than the Brexiteers did (which is not very hard), it may be pretty painless. Brexit is such a mess because Bozo pissed away all the time needed to prepare playing juvenile brinkmanship games. You need to think these things through, plan the actions to take, then sign the deal, and only then set things in motion with suitable implementation and transition phases. Bozo, of course, hasn't done any of those.
2
You are so right. I lived in the UK in the late 90ies, and was shocked by the anti-EU rhetoric and slave mentality of many workers. It is now coming to fruition. All the best for you and yours.
2
Oh, that Blitz mentality! Somehow, I don't see Bozo drawing all together for a common cause like Churchill did. Rather, I see him making remarks like "They have no bread? Then let them eat cake"...
2
The UK is fast asleep. The only thing that will wake them up is when the Brexit disaster becomes too obvious to ignore nor blame the EU for. Give it another year.
2
Not so. People were full of fear and suspicion, everybody could be a government informer. And they hated their governments. Though there were some differences: the closer you got to the USSR, the harder life was for the citizens. Why do you think the Comecon nations we so eager to join the west once the police states that kept them in check collapsed? Most of them are full EU members now. Do not try to romanticise those dark times. Many, many, many people were murdered by their own governments.

Interesting point! Every now and then, voters need to be reminded of the grave responsibility they have when they enter that booth. First of all, the responsibility to inform themselves. The Brexit fiasco will teach Europe that lesson for at least another 50 years.
1
Anyone with half a brain could have understood that Brexit was a moronic idea. Many voices including past PM's warned the people. But the people chose to believe the lies. Brexit is a great reminder of the grave responsibility every voter has when we step in that booth. The first responsibility is to inform ourselves.
1
Another Tory policy heading for the brick wall of reality...
1
If you can't find unicorns today, you won't find them in 50 years time.
1
The enchantment by the Brexit piper will break once the hunger-pains begin.
1
Considering how the UK treats foreign workers (looking at you, Patel!), truckers will be daft to face that while the demand for transport in the EU is picking up rapidly. Boy, did "The Spitting Image" get Patel's image right.
1
The damage will continue to increase at an ever faster pace. Brexit has put the UK economy in a tail spin that will probably end with hyper-inflation and a complete collapse of the economy.
1
No it would not, as the prices are fixed by the lowest taker. Which will now be the Aussi farmers.
1
All the best to you and yours! Sadly, there is not much comfort I can offer you -- except that when push comes to shove, the EU will be ready to help the UK, if you ask nicely. But first it is time for the Brexit and Tory supporters to learn some hard truths.
1
@philipbroggio9315 Don't forget the 45% that voted Tory in the 2019 GE.
1
@patrickmelling8404 The EU will probably accept the UK back into the fold pretty quickly, once they ask nicely. But MINUS the exceptional status it had before Brexit. The will need to accept Sjengen and the Euro like a good little trooper. And it will need to become a proper democracy first, with a proper Constitution and direct representation.
1
It is happening. It takes time for reality to sink in and contracts to be redrawn.
1
It is called the "University of Hard Knocks", and the whole UK has enrolled. Classes include "Separating Propaganda from News", "Taking Responsibility", "Never Trust a Tory", "How To Recognise an Untrustworthy Politician", "Hate, Fear and Suspicion Will Ruin You", and "How Not To Run a Country".
1
@patrickmelling8404 The UK will be back in the EU before that.
1
@patrickmelling8404 "acknowledge facts" They will when they loose everything and their stomach starts to growl. I hope.
1
That will be a small minority. Most will change their tune once the hunger starts. Pretty soon, most of the UK will be pining for those sweet days when they were part of the EU.
1
Brexit will put that to the test. The UK failed to have a revolution in the 18th century, I am not sure if they can avoid one this time.
1
Prices of Whisky have gone up, though...
1
Somehow I don't think your speech, or anything Bozo says, will cause people to rise up in support of Brexit-voting farmers... They won, they should be happy! Let them have their cake and eat it!
1
"Will HMRC have the resources to cope?" No, of course not. They will target some and leave others (who are friendly with the government). Just another step in the corruption of the UK government.
1
You could use those trawlers to transport goods!
1
It does. It also means that getting back into the single market is no longer an option. Bozo likes burning bridges.
