@frankieseward8667 The UK government has promised they would respect the wish of the people, surely they would never do violence to their countrymen? Did it ever resort to violence to keep North Ireland or Scotland within the Union? I am sure we can all rest assured this would never happen.

@timonsolus You mean the V for Vaccine salute.

The FPTP voting system encourages political extremism. If somehow the country could switch to Proportional Representation, that would mean much more for the UK than the destruction of the Tory party.

Competent people want nothing to do with the Tories right now. Just look at the criticism they are getting from previous Tory leaders (John Mayor, Michael Heseltine), and e.g. John Bercow. That is a competent man, he wants nothing to do with the Tories anymore.

@namesurname2958 "harmed the uk" No kidding! Bar any totalitarian 17th century-style suppression wars, it will break it apart with only Wales staying with England. If England is lucky.

Also in higher management roles there are no probations. That is because of the disruption uncertainty about the leader would cause. And who would evaluate their performance? The employees? Nonsense. The performance of such leaders is evaluated every single day, and as soon as stakeholders (or Parliament in this case) lose confidence, the man is out.

And for outside viewers. Pass the popcorn, please!

At some point, you have to wonder whether the UK is worth saving. The problem isn't even the Tories. It is the media the idiots consume. As long as the tabloids still have a customer base, the UK is not ready for saving. Imagine we get a Labour government after the next GE. They will need to spend years, many years, repairing the damage before things will improve. All the time, the rabid MSM will accuse them of England's ills even though they were all caused by the previous government. Labour will be soundly defeated after one term in government, just like the Democrats are standing to lose their majority in the house next year, and the presidency after that. Just because they haven't dealt with the source of their delusions. I am afraid the UK will only be saved through some real hardship. Just be glad that the Tories are dumb enough to give it to the people. At some point, people will wake up and wonder what has become of their country, and what has become of all the promises made by the Tories.

@timonsolus Of course people vote to give someone a job. There is a meeting of managers and other people who evaluate the interview, and they vote.

@peterebel7899 UK Parliament may have had its manes pulled out and a tooth beaten out, but it is still Sovereign. Bozo is not, and serves parliament at its pleasure. Perhaps it will remember it some day, but I am not holding my breath.

@piccalillipit9211 Not even considering that PR would also have to pass the House of Lords, or be delayed until the next sitting of Parliament.... But I have my hopes on the alignment criteria the EU will demand a decade or two from now, when England is desperate to rejoin the EU.
