@onlyme8117 Me, I am pretty comfortable in the NL. Gas price coming down, supermarkets nicely stacked, online orders delivered in one or two days. We only have to deal with a few Covidiots, who thankfully have not infected the houses of parliament.

Stagnation? You wish. We are talking collapse here.

Until the right-wing press starts pointing it out. I.e. NEVER. The Tories are doing very well out of Brexit, turning the nation into a totalitarian Kleptocracy. With them the winners.

@BENTWOONEZERO Of course it is not growing. Trade is down, services are down, pigs are culled, crops rot in the fields, many workers have left, many more are filling in new forms instead of producing things of value, the HMRC has warned for lower tax revenues, of course the GB economy is shrinking. But the UK government is very good at hiding such things... Also you need to take inflation into account. That is why GDP's are compensated for purchasing power when compared.

@peterebel7899 Once the OS is this far gone, it needs re-installation. My advice: install the OS developed by the people, for the people.

@baronvonlimbourgh1716 Shell will not be barred, it will be forced to pay the taxes it dodged by moving to the UK using the new international minimum taxation frameworks. But this time, the Dutch government won't be able to help them.

Neo-conservatism is always bad for the economy.

So sad we can't get an actual preview of what Hell will be like for these clowns.

Too early, mate. As they say, never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. At the moment, only the right-wing press has any influence on what the government does.
3
Not at all. Supermarkets are fully stocked. But then, I live in the NL.

The UK is no longer the 5th largest economy. It is the 7th.

Labour might have put the proposed Brexit deal before the Public in a second referendum. That might have prevented Brexit all together.
3
@baronvonlimbourgh1716 True. But this will leave the UK economy shrunken, and devoid of high-paying jobs. The Brits will be forced to do the work they refused to do up to now, replacing the workers that left that were willing to do them.

Enjoy it while you can. They are caused by a contracting work force, meaning companies are fighting over people. But many will not be able to sustain the extra costs, leading to bankruptcies before long. Then wages will stagnate again while inflation will continue to rise.

He didn't say that. He said it might take 50 years. Or 100.

Governments have learned that they need to MASSIVELY interfere in the market, especially to prevent the formation of monopolies and cartels, and through regulation like minimum wages. Most all governments have stepped away from full-on Capitalism, curbing its most evil effects. However, globalisation is now forming cartels that are beyond the ability of a single government to control. Which is why there are now internationally-agreed minimum tax levels. To get an idea of what hard Capitalism leads to, read some 19th-century literature like Dickens. The USA and the UK need to re-learn the lessons these books (and many others) teach us.

Tories are only interested in Power. Not in Governing. And they are entrenching themselves. It will be very hard to get them out of power, but thankfully they are doing everything they can to antagonize their own people...

Don't worry, the UK will be allowed to rejoin. But first it must experience te consequences of foolishness and learn their lessons, in a deep way. We will know they are ready when 1). the right-wing media is bankrupt; 2). democratic reforms are enacted that will get rid of the un-elected Lords&Bishops and the first-past-the-post system; 3). a proper tax scheme that hits the ultra-wealthy hard, and 4). the Tory party is disbanded.

@alex docra You are welcome to a Norway deal if you want: all the regulations, none of the influence.
1
@Russ_Keith Good point! These Brexiteers love to gaslight people.
1
@alex docra "racist hate" that is a bit much, mate, knowing that Brexit was pure racism.
