The reason why the rest of the world is adopting EU standards is that if they build a product or service out of imported parts and want to export to the EU, they need to prove that those components themselves comply with EU standards. Without having adopted EU standards as the national norm, that is very hard indeed. The EU is smart, you know. They understand that if they allow companies to circumvent their standards by moving to a nation outside the EU and then import to the EU, many businesses would move out. So, good luck, UK, trying to export to anyone after your bonfire of regulations.
