A Different Bias

This bean counter mentality of squeezing the low-paid jobs is utterly moronic. E.g. Henry Ford proved a century ago that paying workers well, is better for business in the long run, if only because you get to pick the best workers when you pay them more.

I am a bit conflicted about all this. On the one hand, I welcome the growing disaster as it will teach the Brexitards (and the rest of the world that is watching) a vital lesson. On the other, I do feel sorry for those who voted against all this. Let us hope the necessary lessons are learnt before the real misery starts (hyperinflation, serious food shortages, starvation among the poor, widespread unemployment, violent riots).

Bozo was offered a deal by the EU where musicians could still work in the EU, but he didn't want it. So all I can say is: "Welcome to the Brexit!"

😂😂😂 I have had a perfect holiday in Switzerland, thank you very much, with plenty of service in restaurants, no reservations required. But then, I am an EU citizen.

All over the world, Murdoch has created blatant fascist propaganda channels that brainwash whole populations. That empire needs to come down. A few good law cases might do it, like the Dominion suits in the US. Even better would be some in-depth investigative journalism pieces revealing how and why Murdoch manipulates nations. There must be illicit financial links to political parties or nations intent on destroying Democracy.

"not to let them drive the trucks" But where could they go? You're on an island!

The stories about EU citizens having their papers and even vital medicines taken from them and being detained for a week have put me off from traveling to the UK for a long time.

There is a common theme between the two countries: the massive influence of the Murdoch media empire...

Followed by those "rather found dead in a ditch"...

That is partly due to Brexit, but compounded by the pandemic as all those people forced to stay at home want those homes improved. As a result there are shortages of craftsmen (tradesmen?) in the EU as well, but not as serious.

"Brexit means Brexit"!

And this strategy is sure to fail, as no matter how cheap the imports are, you still need to export in order to pay from them. These "cheap" imports will only increase the trade deficit even more. Next thing we will see is an accelerating devaluation of the pound.

@normanchristie4524 Time to pay the piper... And as always, it are the young that will suffer the most.

@raymondgill9796 He also supported Hitler, so while he had some good ideas, he was severely lacking in others.

@codacreator6162 Well put. A sustainable economy needs a mechanism to balance the needs of the workers and those of the employers. That can only be achieved through dialog & negotiations. Therefore people need to organise: you can't have a meaningful dialog or negotiation between 100 managers and 10000 workers. By fighting unions, US employers have signed their own death warrant.

@routeman680 Please explain what characteristics of the EU are actually authoritarian or fascist. Facts only, please. I am sure you will have a long list. Of about 0 elements.

There will never be any benefit of being outside the EU. In 50 years time, when Reese-Bogg said benefits would start to come, the UK will be no more, and the smoking ruins of England and Wales will have rejoined the single market as associates. You know, all the rules, none of the power. North-Ireland and Scotland will have rejoined before that as full members.

No, that will only take a couple of years. The 40-50 years are for the economy to slowly recover after its inevitable destruction. As it is much easier for a business to go bankrupt than to build one, an economy can shrink really fast, but grows very slowly.
