  2. ​ Rameen Raza  There is ample historic precedent for convicting a government official after he stepped down. Trump was impeached while in office, the Senate should not have delayed the trial.

  3.  Rameen Raza  Trump had already been impeached. The senate needed to either confirm or reject what the House had done, but that is not the act of impeachment itself. The Senate chose to postpone the trial until after the transfer of power, they could have condemned him before that. I can't believe you are standing up for a man who organized a friggin storming of the Capitol! Why do you and these senators cling on to flimsy excuses to avoid condemning Trump for that? But no worries, Trump will get his due from the federal courts.
