He has officially left the Republican party, though. He, at least, considers the GOP irredeemable.

You are not out of the woods yet. Trump can still play the inland terrorist card, or the military coup card. And I am not looking forward to having that slime ball Tucker Carlson as president of the USA in 2024!

Steve Schmidt is on the ball, as usual. To fight the Magas, we should speak clear language, full of truth but also with grace towards the Magas to allow them to step back into normalcy. Explain the core concepts of the USA (freedom, democracy, humanity, faith) and show how the Magas go against that.

Good video! I always wondered why the Democrats do so poorly in rural areas. Or is it just the enormous subsidies republican senators extort from more urban states?

The great thing about the Trump administration is that he has made some of the wrongs in US society painfully clear. Remember: people of color were twice as likely to die from Covid as white people. That is caused by systemic racism.

After Trump is voted out of office, the danger of these deceived white supremacists will still be there....

The problem, I think, is not so much that the GOP has lost its ideological direction, but that it has become a party by the rich, for the rich. The GOP and its people are financed in ways that in many democracies would count as blatant corruption, but is somehow accepted in the USA. I hope that reforms will be instituted to make the system less vulnerable to corruption, like direct representation, laws penalizing new financial links between companies and (ex-)representatives, and laws strongly curtailing donations to political parties.

This is so true. Trump has cultivated an evil in the USA that needs to be rooted out. That means taking the gloves of, and letting Truth do the work. Truth in the courts, Truth in the media, Truth in the social media, etc. Zero tolerance for lies. But it will take perhaps a generation before Truth has percolated enough that the USA is stable democracy again. 50% of the population needs to be taught how to distinguish between truth and a lie. Right now, the USA borders on being a banana republic, with rampant, deep-seated corruption.

This situation can not be solved only by rebuilding trust through conversations. The Trumpers actively resist conversations with different-minded people, and the GOP hardens them against such conversations. There is one voice that must be added to the discussions: the voice of the Law. The courts are the final authority on right and wrong (except for God), and need to add their voice by clearly pointing out unlawful behavior.
